corticomedial group

corticomedial group

one of the two main groups of nuclei in the amygdala within the brain. It includes the central nucleus and receives mainly olfactory and pheromonal information; its output, via the stria terminalis, is to the hypothalamus and the basomedial forebrain. See also basolateral group.
