correlation ratio

correlation ratio

(symbol: η) a measure of the strength or degree of relationship between two variables whose association is nonlinear (i.e., it cannot be depicted graphically by a straight line). Often referred to as eta, the correlation ratio is the nonlinear equivalent of the correlation coefficient.
