contract

n. an explicit written agreement between parties or individuals. A contract between a client and therapist may detail (a) both the client’s and the therapist’s obligations, (b) the provisions for benefits or privileges to be gained through achievements, and (c) the specified consequences of failures (e.g., missing sessions).
