continuous distractor task

a test of memory retention in which a continuous string of items to be remembered is presented: Every few items, the participant is presented with one of the items previously presented and must remember the item following it, while also retaining the other items in sequence. A continuous distractor task contrasts with a study-trial/test-trial procedure.
