congenital visual agnosia

a form of visual agnosia that is present at birth, due to abnormal development of those parts of the brain responsible for the visual identification of objects, faces, or both. Congenital visual agnosia represents a specific visual cognitive disorder that cannot be explained by visual, cognitive, or language deficits. Also called developmental visual agnosia.
