conduction aphasia

a form of aphasia characterized by difficulty in repeating words and phrases accurately, even though language comprehension may be intact. Spontaneous speech tends to be grammatically correct but with frequent errors in the sounds of words and in finding the correct words to convey meaning. It is classically associated with lesions in the arcuate fasciculus, the tract linking the areas of the brain involved in the interpretation and control of speech, but modern research indicates that a lesion centered around the supramarginal gyrus and the planum temporale is responsible.
