computer-managed instruction

a method of instruction in which a computer is used to assist the teacher in carrying out a plan of individualized instruction. The computer processes daily data regarding the performance of each student; such data can then be used in prescribing the next instructional step for each student. The learner does not interact directly with the computer.

mammography

n. a diagnostic procedure that uses low-dose X-ray photography to detect breast tumors or other abnormalities, either noncancerous (benign) or cancerous (malignant). The X-ray negative produced is called a mammogram.
