community social worker
a professional who serves as a liaison between local, state, and federal government officials and the public on matters affecting the community. Community social workers may, for example, try to raise awareness among officials about the need for local recreational facilities, about employment problems in the community, and about environmental obstacles in public buildings to residents with physical impairments.
