n. the quality of visible light that corresponds to wavelength as perceived by retinal receptors. It is thus the subjective experience of a physical entity. Color is characterized by the three separate attributes of hue, saturation, and luminous intensity, but in general usage the term refers to hue only. See also achromatic; chromatic; primary colors.

micturition reflex

reflex contraction of the bladder in response to signals from its stretch receptors. During development, a child learns to suppress the micturition reflex and to control urination. Also called bladder reflex.
