cognitive behavioral group therapy

a type of group psychotherapy that uses techniques and methods of cognitive behavior therapy, such as modeling, restructuring thoughts, relaxation training, and communication skills training, to achieve behaviorally defined goals. Groups can include clients with diverse issues or can be limited to clients with specific problems (e.g., agoraphobia, anger).

any impairment in perceptual, learning, memory, linguistic, or thinking abilities. Multiple significant cognitive impairments in memory plus one or more other cognitive defects are characteristic of dementia. See also mild cognitive impairment.
