cluster suicide

a statistically high occurrence of suicides within a circumscribed geographic area, social group, or time period. Cluster suicides have been identified involving adolescents, factory workers, and dispersed individuals who imitated the suicide of an admired role model as described by the media (see Werther syndrome). classification rule

a mathematical formula for placing units into groups (e.g., within discriminant analysis) so as to maximize the similarities among group members with regard to a set of characteristics. Also called allocation rule.
