clinical health psychology
a specialty field in health psychology that applies biopsychosocial theory, research, and practice principles to promote physical health and to help resolve the immediate problems of patients with medical conditions and related family difficulties. Biofeedback, relaxation training, hypnotherapy, and coping skills are among the many methods used by clinical health psychologists, who are also active in health policy and in developing and implementing models of preventive intervention.
