cerebral pacemaker

cerebral pacemaker

a hypothetical group of nerve cells in the brain that are believed to regulate the rhythms of brain waves in the cerebral hemispheres. The cerebral pacemaker is believed to be located at the base of the brain, in the region of the hypothalamus or in the reticular formation.
