cerebellar peduncle

cerebellar peduncle

any of the three bundles of nerve fibers that connect each main lobe (hemisphere) of the cerebellum with other parts of the brain. The superior cerebellar peduncle, or brachium conjunctivum, connects the cerebellum with the midbrain; the middle peduncle connects the cerebellum with the pons; and the inferior peduncle connects the cerebellum with the medulla oblongata.
