a small, generally homogeneous geographic area with boundaries established to facilitate the collection and reporting of census data. Community demographic data are frequently used in the assessment of the area’s characteristics and needs, including mental health needs. See also catchment area.

ego stress

any situation, external or internal, that challenges the individual and produces stress (tension, anxiety, etc.) requiring adaptation by the ego. Ego stress is sometimes expressed as such defensive reactions as dissociation, somatization, or panic.
