cat’s-eye syndrome

a rare genetic disorder caused when an individual inherits extra genetic material from chromosome 22 (see acrocentric chromosome), with widely variable features that include structural defects of the iris of the eye that produce a cat’s-eye appearance, skin tags near the ear, narrowing or closure of the anus, defects of the heart or kidneys, and intellectual disability. Also called Schmid–Fraccaro syndrome.
