biographical data

1. information about a patient’s history and behavioral patterns, gathered by a therapist or medical professional primarily from the patient but sometimes from others who know or are related to him or her.

2. information on job candidates for use in personnel selection. The data are usually obtained from application forms or special questionnaires (biographical inventories) and include such items as age, sex, education, work experience, and interests. Also called biodata.
