aversion therapy

aversion therapy

a form of behavior therapy in which the client is conditioned to change or eliminate undesirable behavior or symptoms by associating them with noxious or unpleasant experiences, such as a bitter taste (for nail biting) or nausea (for alcoholism). Also called aversive therapy; deterrent therapy.
