autosomal aberration

autosomal aberration

any disorder of structure, function, or both that is associated with an alteration in the structure or number of any of the pairs of chromosomes that are not sex chromosomes (see autosome). An example of such a disorder is Down syndrome. Also called autosomal abnormality; autosomal anomaly.
