autonoetic

adj. describing a state of knowledge or memory in which one is aware not only of the known or remembered thing but also of one’s personal experience in relation to that thing. Autonoetic consciousness is a corresponding kind of consciousness in which one’s knowledge of facts, concepts, and meanings is mediated through an awareness of one’s own existence in time. excitotoxic lesion

a lesion caused by paroxysmal overactivity of neurons, which may be associated with seizures or occur after stroke. This is most commonly caused by overstimulation of neurons by excitatory amino acids (see excitotoxicity).
