amenorrhea

n. the absence of menstruation. When menstruation fails to begin after puberty, the condition is called primary amenorrhea. If menstrual periods stop, in the absence of pregnancy or menopause, the condition is known as secondary amenorrhea. Changes in physical or mental health can be a causal factor.
