addictive personality

a hypothetical personality pattern thought to increase the likelihood that a person will become dependent on one or more substances. Research has not supported the existence of such a personality, but has identified traits associated with substance abuse, such as impulsivity, behavioral undercontrol, and characteristics associated with neurobehavioral disinhibition.

the ability to comprehend an object simultaneously as the object itself and as a representation of something else. For example, a photograph of a person can be represented both as the print itself and as the person it depicts. Also called dual encoding; dual orientation.
