one-way design

an experimental design in which a single independent variable is manipulated to observe its influence on a dependent variable. For example, a researcher could use a one-way design to examine the effect of different amounts of daily exercise (e.g., 0 minutes, 30 minutes, 60 minutes) on mood. Also called single-factor design.
