Zwaardemaker olfactometer

Zwaardemaker olfactometer

an early olfactometer consisting of a single glass tube open at both ends: One end was inserted into a nostril, and the other end was fitted into a tube filled with an odorant. Sniffing caused the odorant to reach the olfactory epithelium. [Hendrik Zwaardemaker (1857–1930), Dutch physiologist]
