voiced

adj. denoting speech sounds that are articulated with accompanying vibration of the vocal cords. Voiced sounds include all the vowels, semivowels, and diphthongs, and a number of consonants. The dichotomy voiced–unvoiced is an important binary feature in English and many other languages.
