vestibular nystagmus

vestibular nystagmus

involuntary eye movements consisting of slow drift in one direction followed by a rapid movement in the opposite direction, caused by stimulation of the vestibular apparatus during rotation of the head. Also called rotational nystagmus. Compare physiological nystagmus.
