Studentized range statistic

(symbol: q) a statistic used in Tukey’s honestly significant difference test and other multiple comparison tests to establish critical values for rejecting the null hypothesis. It is the range of a sample expressed in units of the standard distribution for that sample. [Student, pseudonym of William S. Gosset]
