scedasticity

scedasticity

n. the distribution of error terms in a set of random variables. The pattern of errors may be due to chance and have constant variance (homoscedacity), or there may be some pattern, such as a clustering of greater error with certain points on the independent variable (heteroscedacity). Regression analysis generally assumes homoscedasticity.
