Price Waterhouse v. Hopkins

a case resulting in a 1989 U.S. Supreme Court ruling that any employment decision made (even in part) on the basis of sex is discriminatory. In this case, the plaintiff was a woman who was denied partnership in an accounting firm because her conduct at work was judged to be excessively masculine.
