photic driving

the effect in which the electrical activity of cortical neurons, as measured via electroencephalography, is altered by rhythmically presented light stimuli, such that the frequency of the activity becomes synchronized with the flashing or pulsing of the photic stimulation. See also rhythmic stimulation.
