n. the male organ for urination and for intromission, during which it enters the female’s vagina to deliver semen. The urethra runs through the penis, which is composed largely of erectile tissue (see corpus cavernosum; corpus spongiosum) and has a mushroom-shaped cap (glans penis). —penile adj.
