part correlation

part correlation

the association between two variables, x and y, with the influence of a third variable, z, removed from one (but only one) of the two variables. This can help a researcher to get a clearer understanding of the relationship between x and y. Also called semipartial correlation. Compare partial correlation; zero-order correlation.
