palinopsia

palinopsia

n. the persistence or reappearance of a visual image after the stimulus has been removed. Palinopsia is associated with posterior brain injury, drug effects, and seizures. Also called palinopia; paliopsy; visual perseveration. See also afterimage; visual illusion.
