orthogonal rotation

orthogonal rotation

a transformational system used in factor analysis in which the different underlying or latent variables are required to remain separated from or uncorrelated with one another. It is one of two types of factor rotation used to identify a simpler structure pattern or solution, the other being oblique rotation. Also called rigid rotation.
