  2. median

median

median

n. the midpoint in a distribution, that is, the score or value that divides it into two equal-sized halves. The median is a measure of central tendency that is particularly useful when analyzing data that have skewness (i.e., lopsidedness), because it is more resistant to the influence of extreme values.
