maprotiline

n. a tetracyclic antidepressant closely related to the tricyclic antidepressants. Like the tricyclic agents, it can cause adverse anticholinergic effects and serious disturbances in heart rhythm; its use has therefore declined, and it is rarely encountered in modern clinical practice. U.S. trade name: Ludiomil.
