isocarboxazid

n. an irreversible monoamine oxidase inhibitor used as a second-line agent for treatment-resistant depression. Its use is limited by its potentially dangerous interactions with serotonergic and noradrenergic agents and with tyramine-containing foodstuffs (e.g., cheese). U.S. trade name: Marplan.
