hypothalamic syndrome

hypothalamic syndrome

any of various disorders arising from injuries to the hypothalamus. These may involve disturbances of eating, drinking, sleep, water balance, and temperature or development of secondary sexual characteristics. See lateral hypothalamic syndrome; ventromedial hypothalamic syndrome.
