group-comparison design

group-comparison design

a type of research approach that investigates potential differences across sets of individuals who are often randomly assigned to a control condition or to one or more specific experimental conditions. Data from a group-comparison design are often analyzed with statistical methods such as a t test or analysis of variance. Also called group-difference design.
