fasciolus gyrus

a brain convolution that is a part of the hippocampal formation, appearing as a delicate band of tissue that communicates with a thin sheet of gray matter, the indusium griseum, on the surface of the corpus callosum. It is associated with olfactory functions. Also called gyrus fasciolaris.
