coefficient of contingency

coefficient of contingency

(symbol: C) a measure of the degree of association between two variables whose values are unordered categories. Its value ranges from 0 to 1, with 0 indicating that the two nominal variables are independent of each other. Examples include Cramér’s V and Yule’s Q. Also called contingency coefficient.
