clinical prediction

clinical prediction

the process of examining such factors as signs, symptoms, and case histories to determine the clinical diagnosis and likely progress of patients. Clinical prediction can be contrasted with actuarial prediction, in which formal statistical methods combine numerical information for the same purposes. See clinical judgment.
