cerebral dominance

1. the control of lower brain centers by the cerebrum or cerebral cortex.

2. the controlling or disproportionate influence on certain aspects of behavior by one cerebral hemisphere (e.g., language is typically left lateralized in right-handed people). See hemispheric lateralization.
