angular gyrus

angular gyrus

a ridge along the lower surface of the parietal lobe of the brain, formed by a junction of the superior and middle temporal gyri. This region has been proposed as the key area of reading and writing function. Lesions are associated with alexia and agraphia, and structural abnormalities with dyslexia.
