1. n. the amount of time that has passed since an organism’s birth; that is, an individual’s chronological age. Compare gestational age.

2. n. a measure of physical or mental development (e.g., anatomical age, educational age, or reading age).

3. n. a specific period of human life (as in middle age, old age). See developmental levels.

4. vb. to grow older. See aging; secondary aging.
