achromatic

adj.

1. without hue and saturation. Thus, an achromatic color is black, white, or a shade of gray.

2. able to refract light without splitting it into its constituent wavelengths. The term generally refers to lenses that do not distort the color of objects viewed through them. Compare chromatic.
